David Siow
Founder and Director
David is first and foremost a music export professional. With his company Steady State Records he organises Singapore showcases in showcase festivals such as SONIK Philippines, Bangkok Music City and Taiwan’s Golden Indie Music Awards. David also curates and festival directs music festivals and conferences such as SCAPE’s Music Day Out, Gastrobeats, and runs local developmental projects such as ALT Residency and now defunct NOISE Music Mentorship. David is also the co-founder of AXEAN Festival (fka ASEAN Music Showcase Festival), and also does one-off lectures and speaks in music conferences all over Asia, covering topics such as market penetration and touring strategies for artists and developments across the various Asian music scenes.
Advocacy wise, David sits on:

The Advisory Panel of NAC’s 45 Armenian Street project;
The Advisory Board of Youthharmony;
The International Advisory Board of Taipei Music Center;
The Board of Directors for CLG Music For Good;
ASEAN - Korea Music Committee for ROUND Festival (by ASEAN Korea Music Festival and KBS); and
Used to sit on La Salle’s Industry Advisory Panel and SGMUSO’s Council.
In SGMUSO, he had taken on the role of President - conceptualizing, managing and operating the projects, such as Singapore: Inside Out in Sydney, the Music Matters Academies, Singapore showcases in festivals in Asia such as Golden Melody Awards, Singapore Matters Networking sessions, AXEAN Festival and any export-related programs. He has also produced small scale (200-1,000 pax) Singapore music festivals such as Aliwal Urban Art Festival, Music for a Cause/YouthX, and SGMUSO’s bare. and The Outer Limits. David was focused on revamping SGMUSO’s business model with fundraising, skills development, music export and membership at its core.
In music making, David’s experience varies widely, from artist management, tour management, bookings, to producing, sessioning and recording. His own indie-pop band Club Mild (fka M1LDL1FE) has built up their presence in Asia, opening for Last Dinosaurs, Ginger Root, Travis, Walk the Moon, Death Cab for Cutie, headlining festivals in Singapore like Baybeats, IGNITE, Music Matters, securing spots in festivals all over Asia such as Monsoon Music Festival (VN), MIDI Festival (CN), All of The Noise (PH), got their original song featured in NDP 2018 and bagging awards such as COMPASS’ Young Artiste of the Year award and the Best English Pop song award. As a dark-pop producer (DSML), he is currently working with many artists across Australasia. Additionally, David is a preferred host for Airbnb - arranging, producing and recording tracks for Airbnb guests. The experience has become one of the most successful Airbnb experiences to date in Asia and David has done over 100 tracks thus far.
Shirley Tang
Project Manager
Shirley is an event organiser and project manager. She began her journey in the industry during her polytechnic days, interning with David at Steady State Records. Since then, she has interned at Sony Music Entertainment (Singapore) during a gap year and worked as Head of Hospitality at regional music festivals such as AXEAN Festival (fka ASEAN Music Showcase Festival).
She is currently freelancing in project management roles while pursuing a full-time degree in Arts Management at UAS. Outside of school and freelance work, Shirley co-runs an indie gig collective called Dirty Window, where she curates shows featuring regional acts and manages collaborations and partnerships. She is passionate about connecting local and regional bands with key industry players to help propel their careers forward. She also works with PK Records in A&R and label operations, as well as organising events for their artists.
